Current physiotherapeutic approaches to the treatment of phantom pain after amputations
Posekaná, Pavlína ; Demeková, Júlia (advisor) ; Kálal, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis is carried out in the form of research with the aim to summarize phantom limb pain issues in physiotherapeutic practice. The general part describes the causes of phantom pain origin in central and peripheral nervous system and summarizes facts about amputation as a surgical intervention, it's classification and possible complications. It also summarizes all familiar pharmacological and nonpharmacological medical approaches used for phantom limb pain treatment. The main part is focused on three currently most effective methods used to treat phantom limb pain in physiotherapy - mirror therapy, virtual reality and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Next part of this thesis is two case interpretations of patients with lower limb amputation. Both patients undertake six weeks of mirror therapy and they described it's effect as positive. The efficiency has been evaluated according to a questionnaire.

Juráková, Eva ; Lorencová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Hlavičková, Růžena (referee)
Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Gangrene of Lower Limbs. Aim: Summary of theoretical knowledge and processing of case study of a patient with the diagnosis of gangrene of lower limbs. Method: The thesis consists of two parts - theoretic and specific. The theoretic part of the thesis contains topics related to amputations, prothesis, diagnostic methods and physioterapeutical treatments used when dealing with this diagnosis. The specific part of the thesis contains a case study of a physiotherapeutical treatment of a patient after unilateral above-knee amputation with the diagnosis of gangrene of lower limbs including complex kinesiologic examination, plan of rehabilitation, description of the progress of therapy and evaluation of the effects of therapy. The case study was compiled during an internship at the inpatiet rehabilitation ward of the Central Military Hospital in Prague. Key words: amputation, prothesis, phantom pain, case-study, physiotherapy

Name of the thesis: Case Study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of unilateral above-knee Amputation Objective: Summary of theoretical knowledge and processing of case study of a patient with diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation. Methodics of the thesis: This thesis consists of two parts. The general part includes knowledge related with topic amputations, prothesis and possibilities of diagnostics and therapy at this issue, focusing on physiotherapy. Special part, including case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation, contains complex kinesiological examination, rehabilitation plan, progress of therapy and final evaluation of its effect. Result: Case study of patient that had been processed in two weeks in January and February 2016 in Rehabilitation hospital in Beroun, has proved effect of applied intervention in a patient with the diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation especially in the hip area, where occurred elongation of shortened structures, increase of the range of active motions and improvement of muscle strength especially in flection, extension and bilaterally abduction. Furthermore it could be examined improved realizing of motion stereotypes (bilaterally abduction and...

Štursová, Kristýna ; Reckziegelová, Petra (advisor) ; Hamouzová, Dita (referee)
Title: Casuistic study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with lower leg amputation Objectives: Theoretical knowledge summary of lower limb amputations, processing casuistic study of a patient with lower leg amputation and documentation of changes in health status after physiotherapy intervention. Methods: This bachelor thesis is divided into general and special part. The general part is focusing on theoretical knowledge of lower limb amputations and their rehabilitation. The special part contains casuistic study of a patient with lower limb amputation. The casuistic study was undertaken during my internship in Kladno Regional Hospital. It includes input kinesiological analysis, short-term and long-term physiotherapy treatment plan, all therapeutic units and output kinesiological analysis. Results: Physiotherapy treatment was an essential aspect of preoperative and postoperative phase. It has contributed to the improvement of the health condition of a patient and prepared the optimal starting position for next rehabilitation with the patient. Keywords: amputation, lower limb, physiotherapy, prosthesis, casuistic study, phantom pain
Case study of Physiotherapy Treatment concerning a patient with transfemoral amputation
Kohútová, Andrea ; Reckziegelová, Petra (advisor) ; Hamouzová, Dita (referee)
Author: Andrea Kohútová Title: A case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment Concerning a Patient with Transfemoral Amputation Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to create a case study of physiotherapy treatment concerning a patient with transfemoral amputation and to summarize the theoretical knowledge base corresponding with this diagnosis, its causes and possibilities of rehabilitation treatment. Methods: This bachelor thesis is split into two parts, a theoretical one and a practical one. The main focus of the theoretical part is to establish a brief summary of the anatomy and kinesiology of the lower limb, the theoretical information about amputation and their etiology, the operation techniques and after-surgery complications. It also contains some general findings about lower limb ischemic disease. The first part focuses on the problematics concerning orthopedic prosthetics, subsequent rehabilitation care and physiotherapeutic methods. The second part contains a detailed case study of physiotherapy treatment concerning a patient with transfemoral amputation. This case study includes the anamnesis of the patient, a detailed initial and final complex kinesiology examination, the proposal and aims of the therapy, records of performed individual therapeutic units and an afterwards...
